Beeswax candle in a jar

A natural beeswax candle in a jar, handmade in our Dorset workshop. Wrapped in tissue paper and string.

We source the best local beeswax, from an organic farm on the Jurassic Coast, and use recyclable 225 gram glass jars and cotton wicks - there are no chemicals or synthetic fragrances in any of our products.

The burn time is approximately 20 hours. Beeswax burns slowly, giving a soft, warm glow, filling the room with the natural smell of honey and botanical wax.

Bees convert the sugar content of honey into beeswax. Wax is used by honey bees to construct the individual cells that compose the honeycomb as well as the cells where eggs are laid for rearing young bees.

Taking care

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Do not leave candles in direct sunlight or near a heat source.

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.

Do not burn candles on unstable surfaces or near  flammable furnishings.

Before relighting, trim the wick to 1 cm height.

Once 0.5 cm of beeswax is left at the bottom, extinguish the candle.

To reuse the jar

Scrape off every bit of beeswax using a knife. Place the jar and lid in the kitchen sink and carefully pour kettle hot water over them. The hot water will melt away any residual wax and you can then wash and reuse the jar and lid.
